Faqs
Do I need any prior experience with mindfulness or meditation?
Not at all. This series is designed for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Whether you’re brand new or looking to refresh your skills, you’ll leave with tools you can start using right away.
Is this just for educators?
No. Teaching Mindful Moments is open to anyone working with students or community members—including mentors, volunteers, librarians, nonprofit staff, and more.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn how to lead short, research-backed mindfulness practices in real-world settings—like classrooms, after-school programs, or neighborhood groups. You’ll also explore the science behind these practices and how to use them safely and effectively.
Is this the same as Fundamentals or Teacher Certification?
No. This is a practical introduction to leading brief mindfulness moments. Unlike Fundamentals, it doesn’t require a daily meditation practice or prepare you for formal certification. It’s a great first step if you’re curious about teaching but aren’t ready to commit to a longer program.
What’s the time commitment?
Five live sessions, each about 60–90 minutes long. There’s no required homework, but we’ll share optional resources you can use between sessions.
Will I get a certificate of completion?
Yes. Participants who attend all five sessions will receive a certificate of participation from MIEA.
Cancellations made up 48 hours before the mindfulness training starts will receive an exchange for a different mindfulness training or a 100% refund depending on your preference. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the course start will receive an exchange only.
This course will be rescheduled if we do not have at least 6 participants 48 hours before the mindfulness training starts. In that case, you can sign up for any course of your choosing, or request a full refund by emailing info@miea.com.
